COSEE MA Scientist Survey 2004-2007 Report
December 4, 2008 in Resource Guides
A great deal of research has been conducted on the science literacy and teaching practices of K-12 classroom teachers. Much less is known about scientists’ involvement in education and outreach with K-12 schools and public audiences.
To fill that gap COSEE Mid-Atlantic (now known as COSEE NOW and COSEE Coastal Trends) has conducted an annual scientist survey since 2004 to gather data on the education involvement, practices and needs of scientists affiliated with ocean observing systems. Our goal is to improve the exchange of data and teaching practices between scientists and educators so that teachers, students and the public can make the best use of ocean observing systems data.
This report includes survey results from 2004 through 2007. For 2008 results, see the COSEE NOW Scientist Survey report.
