I wonder if possible to add the functionality of sharing my posts and posts by others that I like on COSEE-NOW to other social networking websites like twitter, facebook, and linkedin. Although the subjects are mostly of interest to the scientists, educators, and students here, there are some contents I think that would be of interest to a greater audience. And vice versa, if we post something on twitter (say with #coseenow), can that update also be posted here on this website. It might encourage a higher level of interaction among the members here.

Donglai – That is a great idea. Sage and I will talk about how to achieve that with the software. Thanks for your ideas. COSEE NOW is about to start a few online webinars for scientists that might be of interest to a broader group.

    Thanks and more soon

Here’s something that came across my Twitter feed recently that might be helpful (sorry for the monster URL).

Hi Donglai, I did have a social sharing plugin installed on the main NOW site, but due to some bugs I had to remove it. We’re currently working on a redesign of the site, and hopefully I’ll remember to turn that feature back on.

Several of the sub-blogs, including Ross Sea and Ocean Gazing, do have the capability to share or tweet posts directly.

You can always just paste the link directly, but I know that’s no fun ;)
