MARE
Public Group active 10 hours, 24 minutes agoWe live on an ocean planet, but little ocean content is included in standard curricula. Elementary and middle school classroom educators from across the country are now working with scientists to help increase the Ocean Literacy level of our students. Join the discussion and share your ideas on the best ways to excite and motivate students about the ocean.
MARE educators are especially encouraged to join this group. Also, for more information about the East Coast MARE program visit the MARE Website.

This is the PowerPoint show that we used to demonstrate the Rate-A-Plate activity using the Monterrey Bay Aquarium Seafood Guides. Feel free to edit it and customize it to meet the needs of your target audience. Also, do some research and find what some local restaurants are actually serving and include those images for discussion into the PowerPoint. It just might inspire some students to "hit the pavement" with those guides and help make a change or reinforce good decisions about the seafood we consume!
