Our M.A.R.E. Student Leaders are starting to get their hands dirty!! Using the “Clam Dissection” guided activity, students are currently (literally as I’m typing) creating their “bi-valve booklet” (paper clams). These paper models will assist them with identifying the anatomy of the clam when they begin dissecting them in two weeks.

Our students have been working very hard this year and are extremely focused. I’m proud to say that our 5th Graders who are part of the program this year will definitely be coming back to club for next year. We’re also currently exploring bringing “Oysters in the classroom” into our Ocean Science Room.
