Microbiology

Hello everyone, Damian here, 4-H science ambassador blogging for my first time from our Microbiology class which is about to begin. Super excited!! During our experiment we had a situation where the golf course ground water was polluted with fertilizer. In our experiment we had to figure out how much nitrate was in the ground water, glucose, and acetate (vinegar). We learned how important bacteria was to the environment, it isn’t as harmful as we thought it was. Bacteria eats the food we put in and in the process transforms the nitrate into nitrogen gas. I think that is amazing! This was an amazing and interesting lesson. I’m glad to have had Microbiology and I think the kids who have attended this class love it to. -Damian Pacheco
