During the course of the research mission, the scientists at Palmer Research station will participate in a series of Live Calls with the general public. These calls are designed to enable environmentally interested members of the public to ask the scientists questions about penguins, the research mission, and working in Antarctica.
Cornell Lab of Ornithology sponsored LiveStream broadcasts:
Members of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology hosted two events titled “Talk with Scientists in a Penguin Colony”. These live broadcasts featured researchers describing their research project that is based out of Palmer Research Station, Antarctica, how they are investigating the functioning of the Antarctic ecosystem and how changes in the ecosystem are affecting the Adelie penguin populations. Also, participants were given a glimpse live footage of the Adelie penguin chicks at the Torgersen Island colony.
