I am a science writer who has worked at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and has visited Antarctica once before, to write about penguin research and geological studies of rocks on the Antarctic mainland. I will be taking time off from my regular job as science editor at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to participate in a research cruise through the Ross Sea in early 2011.
