I have been involved in informal education for over 30 years. My cureent postion, 16+ years, is focused on engaging underrepresented youth and their teachers in rurla Oregon schools through afterschool programming, teacher professional development and curriculum. We have a major focus, and partnerships, related to ocean sciences and hold a HS Challenge for 120+ HS students here at OSU where students apply their knowledge and skills on a community-based problems such as fisheries, ocean awareness and hazards, and marine mammal management.
