July Teacher Workshop

When was the workshop? – July 16-17, 2013

Tuesday, July 16th 8:45am – 4:45pm (an optional breakfast was served starting at 8:30am)

We focused on the mission overview and logistics, what the students needed to understand to understand the mission science, and how to build and maintain the Project PARKA community.

Wednesday, July 17th 8:45am – 4:00pm (an optional breakfast was served starting at 8:30am)

We focused on the mission science specifically, how the blog would work, the logistics and expectations for the live calls and theĀ  Student Research Symposium, and completing project paperwork.

* We provided breakfast, lunch, and snacks throughout each day.

Where was the workshop held? – Forum Room, Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center, Washburn University (for information on how to get there visit the Directions page on the Center’s website)

What the teachers brought?

  • Laptop (if possible)
  • Pen or pencil
  • Cup or mug (optional)

What we provided to the teachers?

  • Binder of all written materials for the project and lessons
  • Bag of all materials to teach the lessons
  • DVD of all presentations
