Dr. Kanchan Maiti

Dr. Kanchan Maiti is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences at Louisiana State University. He has taught courses such as Oceans to Estuaries (from geology, chemistry, physics, and biological perspectives), and Paleoclimatology. His research interests include the use of artificial and natural radioisotopes to study environmental processes and marine geochemistry. On this cruise Dr. Maiti will be investigating how polonium concentrations in the water column will be reflected in the food web.
