Greetings OOS educators!
One [big] thing that drew me to ocean observing systems and keeps me interested are the gadgets! Gliders, ROVs, giant radar towers, satellites…observing systems have it all.
I’m willing to bet that if you were to poll the world’s OOS scientists, of course they would say “the science” as their number one reason for being involved in this science revolution, but a close second would definitely be the chance to play with, and in many cases, build, cool, expensive “toys.”
So, all you educators out there, do you have students that are gadget-types? Why not introduce them to ocean observing technologies in your next unit? If you are interested in finding out how, let us know!
